T.P. Storage

Most designers probably don't talk about this, but I feel the need to address T.P. storage today.  (I have this on the brain because I am putting the finishing touches on the itsy bitsy teeny weeny bathroom reno).  I hate it when I am at someone's home, at a party, in the bathroom, the toilet paper roll is empty and there is no toilet paper in sight.  I do not want to go through your cabinets, but seriously, I NEED some toilet paper.  So do me a favor, get some pretty T.P. storage, put it out where I can see it, and keep me from rummaging through your cabinets.  Here are a few suggestions:

My day job is designing interiors for student housing developments and for the first time I have a couple of clubhouse projects on the board.  I already shared my project in College Station, TX here.  I thought I would also share my upcoming project in Carbondale, IL.  Here is the design board:

Just found High Street Market on Etsy.  Here are some of my fave items for sale right now:

The trays and bowls would be a pretty way to organize jewelry on a vanity and I love the crispness of the white lamp with the navy shade.  I'm sold.



Jenny Beat Me To It

One of my fave bloggers is Jenny over at Little Green Notebook.  I check in with her daily and last week she posted about family photo gallery walls (check it out here).  Jenny was digging color photos vs. black and whites and I agree.  Here is a peek at a gallery wall in my bedroom:

Family photos, vintage silhouettes, postcards from my travels, an oil painting, and personal photography are all incorporated in this wall.  All frames are from Target and Homegoods, so this is an easy, cheap way to create a very personal display.

Have a Seat

Clubbin'

I visited my project in College Station, TX last week and saw the clubhouse that is under construction and will be ready in July.  Nothing fun was happening inside (just studs) but here's the progress on the exterior:

Closet Orange and Blue Fan

Lately, orange and blue has cropped up in my clothing.  Recent purchases include this dress from Target

and this stingray bracelet from leighelena. 

My obsession with this color combo is now spilling over into the home. I am thinking of orange and blue for my living room.  Here are some inspiration photos:
