Hiatus

Due to sickness and the cold weather, my brain has been on hiatus for most of January, hence the lack of blog posts.

But a few brain cells seem to be working today so I thought I would attempt a post.

A few decorating things have managed to happen this month.  Here are the items that have been purchased:

Chinoiserie Vase-small open edition print

Small Gold Love Print

Will post pics when all these lovelies are in place.

I Don't Mean to Brag...

...but I just had to share this with you.  Apparently the hubs was paying attention when forced to watch all those Million Dollar Decorator's episodes with me 'cause he busted out a sunburst mirror for me for Christmas this year.  What??  This was a total surprise to me.  I have never even mentioned that I like sunburst mirrors (although I have been secretly lusting for one for a while).  Furthermore, said mirror was purchased at an actual antiques store!!  He went there all by himself and picked it out!  Who is this man and what has he done with my regular old hubs???!!!  This gorgeous mirror found a home in my living room this past weekend.

Did you get any good surprises for Christmas this year?

Barcelona Glass Vase

Ever since I saw it, I have wanted a blown glass vase like the one in this photo in the November 2008 edition of House Beautiful.
No rhyme or reason, just something that has stuck in my brain for the past four years.  I have been on the lookout without any luck until the other day when I went to the best store ever, WorldMarket.  I snagged their Barcelona glass vase (couldn't find it on their website) and here it is in my dining room:

It isn't the amber color of the vase in the original photo, but I like this one better because it is a smokey grey/blue which is a good contrast to the brown table it sits on.  I love it when I go shopping and find something I really love when I'm not even looking for it!

FYI - The November issues of Country Living and House Beautiful both have 10% off coupons for WorldMarket, so you can save a few bucks if you find something you just can't live without!
